Pleasantly surprised! Although I do think it depends on what you order. We ordered 2 dishes, tres fajitas, and strip steak and shrimp plate. I took a bite of the shrimp first, it was delicious! Plump, juicy, and seasoned well. I HATE when you order shrimp and you get these tiny measly overcooked shrimp. I didn't expect much from this middle of nowhere truck stop restaurant, but that shrimp was delicious! My steak, however is the reason for -1 star. On the menu it said "Strip Steak and Shrimp." I ALSO hate when a menu item says STEAK but you get it and it's thin slices or strips. I was expecting a large whole piece of meat that was chopped with a knife into strips. What I got were super thin sliced pieces of meat that were then cooked, the end result was dry, hard to cut, and not hot. The tres fajitas were excellent. Piping hot, and the chicken was the some of the most tender chicken I'd ever had, melt in your mouth! The corn tortillas were not handmade but properly heated through, could see a nice char and they were pliable and soft. The margarita was excellent. Our server was so sweet and friendly! I really appreciated their use of SALT here. It is such a shame when you go to an expensive restaurant where they use high quality ingredients, but the cooks don't know how to use SALT. Everything was very well seasoned. The juicy large shrimp was definitely the star, and the rice was on point as well! Really just had to take away 1 star for the dry steak. Everything else was excellent!

Well it's convenient to the pilot truck stop, walking distance.
However, the food was nothing to brag about.
I have definitely had better Mexican food.

But the bartender/waitress was Smokin hot

My husband and I are sick to death of Arby's
Since it's what's available at most truck stops across America

    Food here no good
    Waitress was great

Food was bland but the place is squeaky clean and the service was in the middle of the road, would I recommend NO not with the overwhelming Mexican food restaurants in the area and within walking distance from the pilot truck stop for you travelers.

Driving through we decided to pump gas, and while their we were looking for a place to eat. It was located behind the pilot gas station surrounded by trailers. Once parked we got out of our vehicle and we were surrounded my a very intense manure scent. We thought maybe they aspread some manuer on the dirt or something. Who knows that is a mystery. But straight up this small town smells like that .  However as we entered the restaurant the scent was no longer lingering. The waitress greeted us with a warm smile let us choose our seats and promptly returned with chips and salsa. She handed us menus and took our drink order. The food came out in a timely manner. I order a carne asada plate with shrimp. Specified it be al mojo de ajo.  The  plate came with 4 shrimps. It was on the salty side  and just tasted grilled so I didnt like it.  The plate came with grilled "onions" and grilled Chile (serrano I think). They served 3 thin skinny scallion onions, not the big buldgy type so that was disappointing. The plate did not come with any lime. I ordered a side of guac and the serving was up to par, very good amount. The first 2 bite I had of the steak was filled with nerves. So I had to spit out discretely my chewed up nerve steak. After that I made sure every piece I placed in my tortilla was edible. The portions were good more then enough. Rice and beans were yummy. The guac was my favorite. The salsa they provide (green and red) are a nice touch. I gave it two stars because the steak had a decent taste of seasonings the beans and rice accompanied by the guac made it a nice last minute meal to end our long journey on the road.  Better then taco bell.  Waitress was awesome but food was meh.

Bland food, rude service and it wasn't very clean.
